Black Giza cotton shirting from Arvind with a fine white check. Giza is a long-staple Egyptian cotton, which gives a smoother, finer shirt than regular cotton. The white check on black is sharp and graphic, so this is a statement shirt rather than a quiet one.

Where it works
Evening dinners, parties and smart-casual outings. Keep the rest simple: grey, black or white trousers, and black shoes. It also makes a striking short kurta.
Looking after it
Wash inside out in cold water to keep the black deep, dry in shade, and iron on medium heat.
